there, makeup lovers! So I’m fairly new to the elf Camo Concealer world and thought I’d chip in with my two cents worth. First off – that coverage, right? Amazing; definitely on par with some of the more expensive brands I’ve tried. It even gave my all-time-fave Tarte Shape Tape a run for its money, and at a fraction of the cost. That’s a total win in the dupe department!

But let’s talk application. I found it works best with a damp beauty blender rather than a brush (I tested with MAC No. 217). The sponge seemed to blend it out just a little smoother, ya know?

As for shade matching, I found it pretty easy to find my perfect match. Usually, sifting through shades can be like “does this one match or is that one better?”. But somehow Elf got it right with their undertones. For reference, I am an NC25 in MAC and chose the shade ‘Light Sand’. Spot on!

The ingredients didn’t raise any major red flags for me; no strong fragrance or alcohol which was cool. Always best to do a patch test though especially if your skin’s super sensitive.

In terms of wear test… essentially flawless! Stuck around for a solid 8 hours without any creasing or caking (was wearing primer so gotta mention that), although started feeling a wee bit oily by hour 6 around my T-zone.

Is anyone else getting great results like this or better? Also, are there any setting powders you’ve tried that work especially well with this concealer?

Ha, it seems like we’re all a part of the elf Camo Concealer club here. I cannot deny that the shade range is impressive and will probably compliment every skin tone under the sun! While I found the coverage and longevity to be really good, I did notice a tiny bit of creasing after 5-6 hours of wear (but that might just be my oily T-zone causing trouble). Pro tip: setting it with a light dusting of illuminating powder seemed to do the trick for me! Resistance to transfer could have been better though. If you’re looking for a more wallet-friendly dupe, the Maybelline Fit Me concealer ticks a lot of the same boxes – good coverage, blendability, and an equally extensive shade range. Plus, its consistency seems to resist creasing a bit better in my personal experience. Always remember a patch test when trying new products though!

beauties, I can definitely see the Huda Beauty Overachiever Concealer’s appeal. It’s got some serious coverage and stays put for hours! But if you’re seeking a more budget-friendly alternative, you might want to try Maybelline’s Instant Age Rewind. It also has excellent coverage and is a tad less heavy on the skin. While Huda’s concealer comes with its own applicator, for both products, I’ve found using a damp beauty sponge can realy help blend it out evenly. Now onto shades – Huda offers more variety especially if you have an olive or deeper skin tone. However, both brands do a decent job of catering to different undertones. One thing to note though is Huda’s product does contain fragrance – not an issue for everyone, but may not suit those with sensitive skin (always good to do a patch test!). Anyways how do other folks fare with it in hot climate? I felt my T-zone getting oily after 6-7 hours of wear with Huda, which wasn’t the case with Maybelline.
